WILMINGTON - Bryan Keith Warren, 59, the most genuine soul you will ever know, was called Home on July 2, 2023, after a brief illness.
Bryan was the youngest son of Joseph and Doris Warren, and "baby" brother to Beverly (Larry), Brad (Cindy), Brenda (Barry), Bruce (Eveline), and Barbara (Raymond), uncle to numerous nieces and nephews who he adored, and cousin to many more. His parents, grandparents and brother-in-law, Bruce Rex, pre-deceased him.
Bryan married Christine Morgan on September 15, 1984.
Bryan was blessed with the responsibility of being a parent when he and Chris adopted Ionela (Oana) from Romania approximately 28 years ago. Oana was the pride and joy of Bryan's life. He supported and coached Oana where she was very active in Special Olympics, excelling in cheerleading, sports, competing not only in Kentucky, but other states as well. Brian was on the local Special Olympics Board in Frederick, Virginia that covered 3 counties.
Bryan enlisted in the U.S. Army, served in Alaska. He then worked for the U.S. Federal Bureau of Prisons for 25 years, with FCI assignments in MI, MD, TN, IL, Central Assignment in DC, and lastly, at FMC in Lexington, KY. He retired in 2014 at the rank of Lieutenant and was recognized for his many years of "setting the example...outstanding leadership...guidance". It was his last assignment where he, Chris and Oana lived in Versailles, KY. After retirement, Bryan and Oana moved to Wilmington, NC, allowing Bryan to live close to big brother, Brad. Bryan loved college sports, especially OSU.
Bryan never met a stranger, and if he knew you, you were family. He would go above and beyond to help anyone, felt like he was your protector, and said he would never leave you behind. His laugh was contagious, and always ended a statement with a humorous quip of "just sayin". He had a faith in God and did his very best to live by example but also recognizing ways he failed and always trying to do better. He felt his purpose was to provide for his family, take care of his loved ones and friends were important.
His love was genuine, sincere, and a blessing to whomever was privileged to experience it. He's one of the good ones. Bryan was an organ donor, a hero to many recipients. He will be missed more than words can describe.
We appreciate all the love and friendship to everyone who knew and loved our brother, husband and father. To his friends working for the federal government, this is a "last watch call".
