Carla Jan Goodwin

WILMINGTON - Carla Jan Goodwin entered the gates of Heaven, with her body healed of Kidney failure, on Saturday, June 25th, 2022 at the age of 79.
She was born in Blythe, California on a hot July day in 1942. She was raised in South Florida where she married and had four children — Debbie Wilbur of Spokane WA, Jonathan Wilbur of Wilmington NC, Tiffany Vasquez of Wilmington NC, and Heather Wilbur who preceded her in death. She also had two granddaughters — Anais and Abilia “Abi” Vasquez of Wilmington, NC whom she loved very much.
Even with her personal life struggles, she was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother, and friend.
Carla will be remembered for her bright smile, quick wit, flair for fashion and nail polish, passion for caretaking, dancing the “mashed potatoes”, her love of cake frosting, and her Numerous cats, dogs, and cockatiels.
Her family would like to thank the staff at North Chase nursing home and Novant Health Hospital for the loving care and patience shown to her while she was in their care. Also to Wrightsville Beach Baptist church for the prayers and love showed to her and her family during this difficult time.
Private arrangements are being taken care of by Tranquility Cremation by Aquamation ( www.waternotfire.com ).
