It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Dustin Edward Sisson. Born on April 8, 1989, in Olean, NY, Dustin departed from this world too soon on March 15, 2024, in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Dustin was a cherished son to his mother Stefanie Thurst and father Shane Thurst. He was a loving father to his son Abel J. Arriaga and a devoted fiancé to Arielle Ramirez. Dustin was a beloved brother to Alexis R. Iresabal, Shawna M. (Sisson) Wardner, Bonnie-Lee (Sisson) Salada, Stefan J. Sisson, and Cameron H. Thurst.
He was a doting uncle to his nieces and nephews Abigayle Taylor, Aurora Taylor, Amelia Wardner, Vinton Wardner, Daivony Salada, Teri-lynne Latten, Reznor Sisson, Tessa-Jean Salada, Talyah-Mae Salada, Rayden Sisson, Delilah Salada, and J.J. Wilson. Dustin was also a cherished nephew to his aunt Patricia (Wheeler) Fairfield and uncles Everett Wheeler, Andy Wheeler, and Ralph Wheeler. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Billie Gayle (Torrey) Wheeler, and his maternal grandfather, Lawrence R. Wheeler.
Dustin shared a special bond with his former stepfather and friend, Edward K. Brickel. The two of them spent many hours together, creating memories that will forever be cherished.
Dustin found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved going fishing, kayaking, and hunting. He was a gifted cook at Texas Roadhouse and had a knack for working on vehicles. Dustin also enjoyed playing pool, video games, and listening to music. He was an outdoors enthusiast who cherished camping trips and beach visits.
Dustin will be remembered for his infectious laughter, his warm smile, and his ability to bring happiness into the lives of others. His presence in our lives will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to live on in our hearts.
A celebration of Dustin's life will be held at a later date. During this challenging time, we are grateful for your prayers, love, and support. We kindly ask that you remember Dustin in your own way, cherishing the moments that you shared.
