Glen F Severage, aged 61, passed away Peacefully on October 25, 2023 at the Lower Cape Fear Life Center surrounded by his family.
Glen had a long and courageous battle with ALS. He was born in Plainfield NJ, raised in North Plainfield and graduated from North Plainfield High School. He then attended college in North Carolina and resided in Wilmington, NC his entire adult life. Glen worked for Fedex for over thirty years, retired and expressed a desire to help people. Thus, he enrolled in Cape Fear Community College, graduated and became a Certified Nurse Assistant. He then worked for three years at New Hanover County Hospital until his ALS symptoms no longer allowed him to continue.
Glen loved the outdoors, especially by the ocean. He spent as much time as he could boating, fishing, in and off shore. He especially enjoyed his excursions when accompanied with his son. In addition, he loved to cook and was proficient at preparing any type of food. Glen was also a sports enthusiast and was passionate about the Boston Celtics and New York Jets. His great joy was to watch the games with his son.
Glen was predeceased by his mother Bette Ann Severage and niece Teresa Wills. He leaves many behind to cherish his memory including his son – Steven Severage, father – Frank Severege, sister –Donna Wills and her husband Glenn and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, niece, his caring and competent aide Teresa, and many friends especially, his faithful and loving dog Arcus, who never left his side.
