WILMINGTON - Lawrence McGuire (1935-2022)
The family of Lawrence "Larry" McGuire regrets to share his passing May 30, 2022. He was a gifted storyteller, generous to all, and a lifelong master carpenter. Larry was employed by State Farm Insurance, Bloomington, IL, as a construction consultant for numerous State Farm buildings nationwide. He had previously supervised the construction of a great number of churches.
Larry was 86, born August 28, 1935 in Beckley, W. VA to Edgar and Ruby (Stewart) McGuire. He was married to Cheryl Lietz for 39 years. They had retired to Wilmington, NC from Illinois.
Survivors include his four children, Karen McGuire, Nancy Tassler, Aimee McGuire, and Ehren Lietz; three grandsons; one great grandson; one sister and one brother.
