Manoucher Max Tamadon

March 28, 1936 — February 18, 2025

WILMINGTON- Manoucher "Max" Tamadon passed away peacefully at the age of 89 surrounded by his family at his bedside on February 18, 2025 in Wilmington, NC.

Born on March 28, 1936 he grew up quickly after losing his father and sustaining a disabling injury to his left leg as a teenager. He never considered himself disabled. He was a force of nature both physically and mentally, pushing himself to remarkable achievements throughout his life.

Max was gifted with a mathematical mind and commonly impressed his friends with his ability to do complex calculations in his head. He pursued a career in civil engineering and specialized in building bridges where his hands-on approach set him apart. As a young engineer he never hesitated to take matters into his own hands, literally, operating heavy equipment to clear mudslides and ensure progress when operators did not for fear of injury. At the pinnacle of his career he was the CEO of a multi-million dollar international development company with both military and civilian contracts. His work left an indelible mark on infrastructure projects internationally and from coast to coast which included bridges, shopping malls and custom homes.

Beyond his professional achievements, Max was an adventurer and a globetrotter who spoke multiple languages. He was an avid hiker, swimmer, hunter and a pilot who embraced the outdoors with enthusiasm. He enjoyed scientific articles and science-fiction novels. He was passionate about poetry and was able to recite poems for any occasion on demand.

Max is survived by his son Alan Tamadon (Alexandra) and daughter Sunny Tamadon Ghaemi. He was an adored grandfather of 3 grandchildren, Ashley Ghaemi (Nicholas), Dylan Ghaemi and Logan Tamadon. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 45 years, Faye Tamadon.

He wished to be remembered as a devoted husband and father whose resilience and determination shaped his family and the world around him. His legacy lives on in the structures he built and the lives he touched.

A private family ceremony was held in his honor. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare. Aquamation provided by Tranquility Cremation by Aquamation.
