Richard loved the wholesale auto industry which he spent being self employed for over 20 years. He then after passing his residential and commercial construction licensing spent the next 15+ years building in several states and his favorite location the Bahamas. Always in addition to taking care of any makeovers on family homes and which also included building us all a family home in Ocean Lakes SC. Where Many many wonderful memories were made.

During his free time Richard found a p
assion for flying. He took lessons with the Mount Airy Flight School and quickly earned his private pilots license. The beach was one of his greatest loves. If he wasn't fishing, boating, seining shrimp, crabing or oystering he was just soaking up the sun on the beach and feeding the seagulls out of his hand. One of his favorite pastimes was oystering around the holidays with the family a tradition that will be passed down for generations to come. He was huge lover of holidays. He enjoyed hosting family, extended family and friends for Thanksgiving and seeing everyone enjoy good food and time together. The day after Thanksgiving was the day to head for the mountains to cut down the perfect Christmas tree and cut one for anyone else who put in an order with him.
A Celebration of Life is planned for November 18th 3PM at Old North State Winery in Mt Airy NC
