Scott grew up in the Bronx, NY. His childhood was full of family, friends and fun. He graduated from Christopher Columbus High School in 1973. In 1975 he met the love of his life Doreen T. Folchi and in 1979 they were married. They settled in Carmel, NY to raise their family and later moved to Bolivia, NC. The most important thing to Scott was his family. He adored his wife, children and grandchildren immensely. He always had their well-being in mind and his support of their interests and pursuits was unconditional. As a devoted father, he ensured his children wanted for nothing. He loved to travel and strived to show his family the world. Memorable vacations included trips to Europe, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Las Vegas, Key West, Disney World, Hershey Park, and Dollywood. Not to mention the countless trips to Broadway in New York City, more than one can keep track of. These are just some of the highlights of his incredibly rich life. His pride and joy were his five treasured grandchildren who affectionately refer to him as “Bop.” He loved to entertain and reminisce with loved ones, sing and dance to his favorite music, and cook breakfast for his family. He was the life of the party and his animated presence at the dinner table was larger than life.
A celebration of Scott's life will be held on January 15, 2023 from 2-5pm at the Winding River POA ClubHouse at 1640 Goley Hewett Road, SE, Bolivia, North Carolina, 28422. In lieu of flowers, Scott’s family asks that donations be made to the Scott J. Saccomano Memorial Nursing Scholarship.
